Every day boys and girls find a hero they can see themselves in, and create dreams for their futures. Lucky for us, Hoquiam’s girls have Larissa Rohr. Along with serving the city as our first female fire captain, Larissa spends her days off investing in the futures of Hoquiam kids. She teaches public education courses as well as CPR classes at the high school, and volunteers her time to coach our lady grizzlies basketball team. Larissa is a kind and patient mentor to her team, and is described by her coworkers as super positive and someone who blooms wherever she is planted. We feel Larissa truly embodies what it takes to be a Hoquiam Hero, and is a wonderful example for all of us that nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.
