Myka Wayman is a passionate and caring young adult who is proud to be from Hoquiam. She is a leader and a natural advocate for those in our community that are in need. Myka has been involved in Saron Lutheran’s youth group and has volunteered countless hours to provide care and leadership to children. She also volunteered every year every year to support Christmas for Kids. At HHS she was a member of the Fusion Mentor program where she served as a highly effective mentor to freshmen students. She was a valuable member of HOPE Squad, a group that trains students to recognize warning signs in depressed or suicidal peers, and to empower them to report those signs to an adult. Myka made a difference in the lives of students at HHS in so many ways, and she continues to have a positive impact on her community. She now volunteers as the Youth Ministry Intern at Saron Lutheran as the lead for the Sunday School program, planning youth events, and helping with Vacation Bible School. We are proud to recognize her as a Hoquiam Hero.
